It didn't take long for the boys to be tired of window shopping, so after we bought some New Mexican chili powder and Red Chili Pistachios, the boys and I went in search of a bakery while Olivia and Aunt Sharon walked around more.
After buying some Biscochittos and other baked goods, the boys and I sat in the town square across the street from.....
After we regrouped, we got on the interstate again towards Texas. But before we could leave New Mexico, we had to make a stop and take in the sights of Roswell...
Our goal was to make it to Fort Stockton, TX. We knew it was going to be another long day in the car, but we plan on visiting cousin Andrew in San Antiono on Saturday. Just when I thought we would never leave New Mexico...
But really, the only difference between Eastern NM and Texas was that after we crossed the boarder, there began an endless view of Oil Derricks to go with the endless ribbons of highway.

To pass the time, Aunt Sharon made some phone calls to Uncle Ira and cousin Andrew. Of course Eli wanted to know who she was talking to and demanded to talk also. While talking to Andrew the conversation went something like this...
Eli: What are you doing?
Andrew: Nothing. What are you doing?
Eli: Sitting.
Eli: Mommy is still driving.
Eli: Nathan has a green game.
Eli: See you tomorrow.
Eli: Love you.
Like everything else, Eli dominates most conversations.
After a while the sun set, the full moon came up and we still had 40 miles to go. It was a long 40 minutes...but the view was pretty...
By 10pm we pulled into the hotel, had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with apples for dinner and threw the kids in bed.
Gad we are finally in the right state, even if it will take us 2 more days to get to our destination.
